The Best Blogging Platforms
Sunday, November 8th, 2009It’s been quite some time since I started my first ever blog, and there have been many of them since my first. I’ve written about so many different things you wouldn’t believe it. Everyday topics like politics, and not so common topics like the Little Tikes kitchen. Men’s interests like sports, and women’s interests like the Kate Spade handbag.
As far as using a platform goes, I’ve always had different opinions about this, as I’ve never known which way to go with things. I’ve tried so many different options, and at the end of the day I want something easy to use that looks great.
I’ve been through my share of good ones and bad ones, and I’d like to tell you about three of the blogging platforms that I’ve found to be the best of the bunch. The best part is that these are all free.
If you’ve never blogged before, you might want to go with a Blogger blog to start out. This is a service that Google powers, and you know it’s got to be good if they’re behind it. It couldn’t be easier to get started.
2. Wordpress. I absolutely love Wordpress as a platform because of all of the plugins available. There are really so many of them to choose from.
If you’re into the idea of expanding the offerings of your blog with many nice, fun widgets, Wordpress can be a great way for you to go. It’s free to set up, and there are thousands of widgets that you can add to your blog at no cost.
3. Posterous. This is a new blogging service that I think is really cool, and may just catch on one day. Basically, all you need to do is send an email to Posterous, and they’ll post your email as a blog, no matter where you are.
The best part is the fact that you can upload videos and pictures directly to the blog via email, and they’ll post those too.
